LOUPES (folding magnifying lenses) Excellent and inexpensive, light, slim, (40x30x15mm) black plastic, with two 5x lenses for a total magnification of 10x. Only $5 each, so you can painlessly lose them, drop them, or give them away!  Buy a bunch for your club - 10 for $39, or 20 for $70

MINIATURE BOXES: hinged, black base, clear top, 2" cubes, with styrofoam (and white cardstock in the bottom for extra whiteness). Excellent for protecting your display specimens from dust and damage. 10 for $16

MOUNTING PUTTY: The new white version is easier on the eyes than the old blue stuff, and works just as well. If you've ever been asked "What's the blue mineral at the base of that crystal?" then it's time you switched! 70 gram package, enough to mount a couple hundred pieces, $3

BALSA: great for micromounting dyed black: 1/4" square,6"long pieces, 3 for $1
