BAR52 - BARITE, Meikle Mine, near Carlin, Elko County, Nevada - A large cabinet specimen loaded with countless sparkling transparent yellow barite xls to 15mm on edge. Big and showy, but with a few bruised areas. 160x110x90mm (6.5x4.5x3"!), $299

BAR53 - BARITE on CALCITE, Elk Creek, Meade County, Black Hills, South Dakota - A large cabinet specimen covered in drusy yellow calcite and dappled with a dozen transparent golden brown barite xls. The largest crystal is doubly terminated and 45mm long, but has been repaired. There are also a number of incomplete xls, a testament to how hard it is to collect these undamaged. 130x100x90mm (5x4"), $139

BAR54 - BARITE, Le Main Mine, Autun, France - A large and heavy cabinet specimen of solid crystalline barite, with thick tabular brownish-yellow xls to 60mm (2.5"!) on edge. A couple of xls are incomplete but otherwise its in great shape; an awesome specimen! 130x100x100mm (~6x4"), $255

BAR55 - BARITE, Elmwood Mine, near Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee: A hardball-sized xl sphere, off-white/pale yellowish and undamaged, on a few shards of matrix that are coated with small dolomite and quartz xls. There's even a tiny little sphalerite xl present. Very weird and classy piece, quite an unusual habit. The sphere is 70mm; overall 120x80x70mm.   $139

BAR35 - BARITE, MALACHITE, Shinkolobwe Mine, Tantara, Shaba Province, Congo (formerly Zaire) - Simply a fabulous miniature, loaded with translucent to transparent colorless tabular xls to 15mm on a green and black matrix of malachite and presumably Mn oxides. Very busy, delicate, and enchanting. 55x55x20mm, $245

BAR47 - BARITE, Hartsel Barite Mine, Hartsel, Park County, Colorado - A nice tabular grouping of xls, sort of bluish yellow, to 50mm, pretty much solid xln barite, better looking than most from this locality. 50x40x40mm, $30

BAR49 - BARITE, Silius, near Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy - A superb matrixless miniature with sharp, lustrous glassy crystals projecting nicely out of the cluster. The largest crystal is 50mm long and doubly terminated. Displays very, very nicely! With a Herbert Obodda label. 60x50x30mm, $99

BAR50 - BARITE, PYRITE, Kapnic, Maramures, Romania - A druse of nicely individual sharp tabular colorless to greyish crystals to 15mm on edge, about half of which is covered with minutely xln subdued brassy pyrite. No matrix, solid heavy barite. An attractive and distinctive piece, 100x50x30mm, $75

BAR2 - BARITE, CALCITE, Minerva No. 1 Mine, Cave-In-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois - A glistening snow-white grouping of  jagged crystals with minor calcite. Very good for the locality. Comes with a David M. Crawford label. 60x50x30mm, $75

BAR7 - BARITE, SULFUR, Machow Mine, near Tarnobrzeg, 95 km S of Warsaw, Poland - Radiating perfectly clear pale brown prisms to 20mm long on a sulfur-rich matrix. Several crystals are incomplete but it remains a lovely piece. See MR V23 #1 for more info. Comes with a label from "The Old Prospector". 55x40x30mm, $50

BAR9 - BARITE, DOLOMITE, CALCITE, HEMATITE, Alston Moor district, Cumbria, England - A classic thick tabular lustrous pale blue to slightly yellow crystal with micro associates, from just about the most desirable of all barite localities. A small contact at the base on the back  and some essentially invisible damage to the termination detract very little from the charm of the piece. Comes with two F. Ebbut collection labels, one old and neat, plus a Golden Minerals label.  70x50x25mm, $245

BAR11 - BARITE, SULFUR, Machow Mine, near Tarnobrzeg, 95 km S of Warsaw, Poland - A fine plate of brown tabular xls to 30mm with a few resorbed sulfur xls to 10mm on a thin layer of calcite xls. No matrix. A very nice cabinet specimen! With a Kristalle label. 90x60x30mm, $80

BAR13 - BARITE, Hartsel Barite Mine, 2 miles SW of Hartsel, Park County, Colorado - A large group of tabular sort of pale blue/yellow xls, the main xl 70mm across. Some incompleteness on either edge. 90x70x40mm, $30

BAR15 - BARITE +?, Yunan Province, China - A solid druse of fabulous glassy dark amber crystals, the largest 25mm across and 12mm thick. Sawn matrix, main xl dinged, and some incomplete xls around the edges, but still a nice hand sized piece of eye candy. And as a bonus there are bizarre inclusions of some brassy sulfide; 1mm thick layers of golden needles forming dark zones in some xls; presumably millerite, marcasite, or pyrite. The presence of minor pyrite in the matrix suggests the latter but the habit is more that of millerite. Most unusal and gorgeous under the scope! With an M&R Rock Shop label. 100x70x50mm, $60

BAR16 - BARITE on SIDERITE, Eagle Mine, Gilman District, Eagle County, Colorado - A very fine miniature or small cabinet specimen, one side dappled with clear golden tabular crystals to 8mm on a druse of tan siderite, the other side completely coated with more brownish crystals with some sugary secondary barite on them. A beautiful display piece, with a few spots of barely noticeable damage. Comes with a label from The Collectors Edge. 75x65x20mm, $150

BAR19 - BARITE, PYRITE, MARCASITE, CHALCOPYRITE, Dreislar Mine, Germany - A 50mm (2") thick vein of solid pink to cream barite is topped by a layer of thin tabular xls to 10mm upon which are countless micro sulfide xls. Great under the scope, and a good demonstation of the high SG of BaSO4. 80x70x50mm, $19

BAR21 - BARITE, CALCITE, GYPSUM, Newell Lake, South Dakota - More of an interesting reference specimen than a display piece, with golden barite xls to 55mm long sandwiched in here and there where space was available in the concretion, with minor calcite and gypsum. Includes the large unterminated single, a nice fan of unterminated xls to 40mm long, and three terminated xls to 15mm on the back. 100x70x60mm, $19

BAR23 - BARITE, CALCITE, Edgemont, South Dakota - A teriffic cabinet specimen with a pale blue 25x20x10mm doubly terminated barite xl and a few smaller on a cluster of big chunky yellow calcite rhombs, on an interestingly layered matrix. An excellent and highly unusual piece! 120x70x60mm, $65

BAR26 - BARITE, CALCITE, Emery County, Utah - An awesome cabinet specimen, sporting a monstrous 90x58x35mm crystal of barite, lustrous, smoky colored and in great shape but for a couple of dings and calcite xl contacts, with fine white glassy calcite xls to 23mm across. That's a 3.5 x 2" crystal! 120x110x60mm, $300

BAR30 - BARITE, BOULANGERITE, QUARTZ, Cavnic, Maramures, Romania - An awesome matrixless plate of golden yellow barite xls to 40mm across. Solidly coated with xls on the front, same for the back, except the back is loaded with black mats of finely acicular boulangerite, within which are suspended micro quartz xls. No matrix. A great display piece; a few xls are damaged but they blend in very well. 130x110x40mm (5x4x2"!), $190

BAR39 - BARITE, CALCITE, El Solar Mine, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico - A neat combination of yellow calcite xls mostly coating a group of lustrous blue platy barite xls. With a Dave Bunk label. Peculiarly aesthetic and classy combo. 60x45x35mm, $60
