BAR15 - BARITE +?, Yunan Province, China
A solid druse of fabulous glassy dark amber crystals, the largest 25mm across and 12mm thick. Sawn matrix, main xl dinged, and some incomplete xls around the edges, but still a nice hand sized piece of eye candy. There are bizarre inclusions of some brassy sulfide; 1mm thick layers of golden needles forming dark zones in some xls; presumably millerite, marcasite, or pyrite. The presence of minor pyrite in the matrix suggests the latter but the habit is more that of millerite. Most unusal and gorgeous under the scope! With an M&R Rock Shop label.
100x70x50mm, $60
